Spanish flu

In the summer of 1918, the Spanish flu swept through Europe, and in the Netherlands, more than 17,000 mainly young people died during this pandemic. Here the deadly disease is presented as a seductive young woman with a red rose in her mouth and a dress decorated with roses. She is teasing the clumsy population register official with her intention to ‘make love to’ as many people as possible.
